Primary shirt is the yellow shirt with black pin-strips.
It is preferred - but not mandatory - that the shirt does not have the
USSF logo. Both referees should wear either the long sleeve or short
sleeve version of this shirt on the field. There should not be one
official wearing long sleeves and the other official wearing short
sleeves. This means that all officials should have at least 2
yellow shirts. Officials should not cover their shirt with a
jacket or rain-gear. In cold and foul weather, wear extra clothes
under the uniform shirt. Referees are urged to change into a yellow
shirt before arriving at the field and change to an alternate color only
after determining that yellow conflicts with the colors of one of the
teams.
The official
alternate shirt is the black shirt with white collar and cuffs or the
black shirt with white pin stripes. Avoid having one official wear one
classic black shirt and the other wear the black with pin stripes shirt. In addition, if the two officials agree in advance, they may wear
any "official" referee shirt (any of the three USSF colors or the two NISOA
colors). All referees should carry at least one
short sleeve and one long sleeve shirt in each of the two official colors. If
one referee has a long only a long sleeve shirt and the other referee has a
short sleeve shirt, the referee with the long sleeve shirt should push up or
roll up his sleeve so that it approximately matches the short sleeve shirt. In
all cases the referees must wear their EMSOA patch and no other
patch.

The yellow shirt and the black with
pin stripes shirt are carried by almost all suppliers since these
colors are the official colors for USSF. If you place an order with Official Sports Inc.,
you are urged to
specify a style without the USSF logo - yellow is item number
1080NL (short sleeve) or 1081NL (long sleeve) - black with white pin
stripes is item number 1082NL (short sleeve) or 1083NL (long sleeve).
Most other suppliers only offer the "without logo" version of the
shirts. |
